The study explores the lineage, upbringing, educational, professional appointments, as well as scholarly and academically contributions of Prof. Dr. Ijaz Farooq Akram (Late). He Contributed in the field of Islamic & rest of Quranic Sciences. He Spent his time in promoting Arabic language, conducting International, National, Conferences, Seminars , workshops and other educational activities. He contributed as professor of Arabic & Islamic Studies very well. He served as principal at Post graduate college of Samna Abad, Director of Colleges District of Faisalabad. He served as a guest speaker in Faisalabad Radio and recorded many lectures on Islamic and contemporary topics. Prof. Dr. Ijaz Farood Akram was a revolutionary Personality, he contributed in jamaa-ti-islami (Religious and Political Party).
He served in department of Arabic Language and literature at Govt College University Faisalabad, he Proved himself as a good teacher, administrator, leader and reformer of Islamic teachings. Prof .Dr. Ijaz Farooq wrote some Valuable books in Urdu. He travelled abroad and wrote a short story regarding his journey to Turkey along-with his wife. He was thinker, intellectual and Speaker of Arabic and Urdu. He succeeded to earn a very Eminent Status among his contemporary colleagues. He spent his life with happy and Joy. He served in Higher Education department as Professor, administrator and reformer. He used to say Arabic Verses among his meetings with subordinates.
Prof.Dr. Ijaz Farooq Akram received his early education at Shah Waliullah College, Mansurah, where he was awarded the Fazil-E-Arabi degree. Later, he enrolled at the University of Punjab, from where he obtained both his master’s degree in Arabic and his PhD.He began his academic career in 1985 when he was selected by the Punjab Public Service Commission as a Lecturer in Arabic. Over the years, he served at several distinguished institutions, including Government Islamia College Sangla Hill, Government College Faisalabad, and Government College University Faisalabad.
Throughout his career, he held numerous significant academic and administrative positions. He served as President of the Student Union at the Oriental College, and was appointed Chairman of the Department of Arabic at Government College University Faisalabad. Prof. Dr. Ijaz Farooq Akram supervised many research theses at the Master’s, MPhil, and PhD levels. He also actively contributed to academic life by participating in Boards of Studies, examination committees, and various academic and administrative councils across multiple universities.
He also maintained a strong presence in media, particularly through Radio Pakistan, where he contributed for nearly twenty years to educational, religious, and cultural programming. In the renowned program Hayya ala al-Falah, as part of the series “The Holy Qur’an and Our Lives,” he delivered approximately seventy episodes and presented around 490 Qur’anic lectures.
