ibn Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl al-Thaʿālibī (d. 429 A.H.) is one of the most significant literary works that sheds light on the aesthetic beauty of the Arabic language its eloquent expressions, rich structures, and refined stylistic features. The book explores al-muḍāf (the genitive constructions) and al-mansūb (attributed forms) in Arabic, presenting numerous expressions and phrases with deep cultural and historical meanings.The author enriches the text with literary and poetic citations that add elegance and depth to his discussion.
In this research, the focus is on the nd in al-Thaʿālibī’s Thimār al-Qulūb fī al-Muḍāf wa al-Mansūb. The study analyzes these etranslation and critical investigation of the words and expressions attributed or ascribed to the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) as fouxpressions linguistically and contextually, clarifying their semantic nuances and their historical and literary significance.
Al-Thaʿālibī adopts a distinctive methodological approach in presenting his material, which can be summarized as follows:
1. Thematic rather than lexical organization: He does not follow a strict alphabetical order; instead, he arranges the constructs and attributions according to their topics and shared meanings.
